A crafty pen pal?

Hi guys. I have been sneaking around this site for a long time and finally plucked up the courage to create a profile and post something;)

I'd really like to have a pen pal (or several) from another place in the world. Someone to mail really old-fashioned snail-mail to. Letters that would contain stories from our lives, small crafty gifts or exchanges of patterns and DIY. Just something to make life a little sweeter.

I'm a 27-year old journalism major living in Copenhagen, Denmark. I like to create and to be inspired.

Hey M, I may not be the type of person you had in mind. I'm almost 60 years old. My main (and almost only)craft is sewing. Not that I'm real good at it but I like it. I currently live with my mother and take care of her. Or should I say we take care of each other. She is 84 and has had 2 heart attacks so I'm not sure how much longer she will be with us. Both of my children and my grandchildren live in Alaska. I was born there, back when it was a territory of the U.S. and when my children were ready for high school, I quit my job and moved us up there where the social life was cleaner for school kids. I was a volunteer on the local fire department here in New Mexico and saw all the beer sites and satanic ritual sites from the local highschool. So when it was time for my kids to go to highschool, I didn't want them going here. I married at age 18 and wanted to be the best wife and mother there was but my husband had different ideas. I didn't know until after we were married that he was an abused child and he actually hated women. I lasted 9 years and then decided to bail out and save my 4 yr. olddaughter from marrying an abuser or my 5 yr. old son from becoming one. I was blessed to find a job that I could apprentice as a pump mechanic in. It wasn't my idea of a great job but it provided security and money to raise my children in a close to normal life. I'm currently living on Social Security (A stipend usually given to the elderly upon official retirement through the government. We pay a little out of each paycheck while we are employed to help pay for it later.) I started using mine at age 41 because the job I had caused me to get fibromyalgia and early onset arthritis and I couldn't work any more. I love my life and am not telling a poor me story. I'm just filling you in on my data so you have somewhat of a background on me. I have always wanted to have a penpal also so that is why I'm answering your ad. (if you can call it that)ha I realize you will probably get quite a few responses to your request and there is quite a differece in our ages so if I don't here back from you, it won't upset me. If you still are wanting a snail mail pen pal, I'd love to try it! I make all kinds of things, and it'd be fun to have someone besides my hubby and teenage son to make them for! lol I live in the US, hopefully that's far enough away! Happy If you might be interested, drop me line.

I only have one penpal, wouldnt mind having another. Im 25yr old art student in the UK, trying out new techniques to further my degree. I like sewing, crochet, stamping, screen printing. Anyone drop me a line if interested
