I want to get some shrink plastic. Any advice?
I see all these cool shrink plastic jewelry projects but I don't know how to do it.
Where can you buy it? I'm not a big fan of buying things online, any american stores you can think of? I don't know how to use it either. Whats the process like? I'm completely new to the process. Any price estimation? What about you? Do you like shrink plastic?
I also want shrink plastic. The people at the craft shops here don't even know what it is though o.O
If i can remember right - I believe you can buy it at Michaels Craft Store or you might be able to find it at Diddams - ask them for ShrinkyDrinks - it's a little book with projects that walk you through how to do it & gives you some shrink plastic
Good luck!
michaels, joanns, any craft store really. you draw on it w/ like a colr pencil or permanant markers, puncha smalish sized hole wherever you want, put in oven for whatever the degrees it says to after it shrinks and becomes thicker in width take out put jump ring add earringhook or chain or whateva
I bought the kind you put in your printer and print out any pictures and put the hole in it and use on any thing you like.I did pic of my brothers kids for his key chain. I really like it for cartoon characters for a bracelet or necklaces or any thing you can hang it on..good luck, its fun.
I followed the how to for the Unluck Charm Bracelet and my shrinky dinks turned out amazing!!!!! And all I used is plastic food containers from the grocery store! Seriously its the same stuff. I cant find it where I live, and I had thought about just buying some online, but I will never ever buy it again, now that I know I can make the same stuff for free <3
i am running to the unlucky charm bracelet tutorial right now. thanks for the tip pammerz!
at joann's and micheal's they have the printable kind too if you are handy w/ a drawing program. I didn't know you can use the lids! I will try that next time.
Pammerz that's awesome! Any particular kind of plastic tuperware you used?
Yeah that is awesome! I heard you could use plastics...what kind? I don't want to burn anything. I have a bad history of accidentally burning stuff.
Yeah look for plastic with the #6 on them by the recycle symbol. Then trip the plastic, scuff up one side with sandpaper, draw/color your picture on the rough side. Preheat your oven to 350'F and bake the plastic. Watch it carefully, it will crinkle up an curl. Then flatten back out. After its done flattening out and nothing moves for a few seconds. Take it out and let it cool!
Thank you pammerz! I will definitely do this!
wow that's awesome. I'll definitely try this
Thanks so much pammerz! Good luck cheese!
I love shrink plastic it is well and truly a versatile material. I usually buy it when I see it in craft stores, I get the Shrinkles one. Its brilliant for making pendants and charms and works well with Sharpie pens and colouring pencils. I love designing tattoo style pendants and food related charms.
Pammerz I'm definatley gonna have to try recyling plastic and using it as shrink plastic, especially as I have to be more Frugal in the build up to my wedding lol.
dON'T WASTE UR MONEY BUYING IT!!! Find some #6 plastic. Mostly found in plastic cups, plastic click case (berries, salads).
