Crafty Advice Please :)

I've been trying to make resin pendants because I see so many beautiful ones on Etsy and Flickr. I'm having trouble finding tutorials and the right kind of resin. I went to a craft store and they had resin, but it was for adding a finish to wood or something. I live in California, USA, and I'm having a hard time finding resin and directions.
I would love to make one of those cute pendants with glitter, sprinkles, and little objects, like snowmen.
Please help me! Thank you! Happy

for beginers, you should buy some epoxy resin. it dosen't have much of a smell, unlike like more professional resins. you also need some moulds. i would reccomend a multi- mould, with loads of different shapes. I don't know where you could buy it from in the US, so i can't really help u there! also, you can embed pictures in resin as well as charms and glitter. hope that helps a bit!! Happy

I too just started playing around with resin and I made some nice pieces for my first try. I bought my resin, EasyCast clear casting epoxy, that you just mix equal parts of and pour from Michaels because I had a coupon, but they didn't have any molds, so I went to Hobby Lobby for that.

I have yet to take pix of mine and post them, which is on my to-do list.

This is what I'm using right now.

But if you get this one, and others that have only one container, then you will most likely have to purchase a hardener separate.

Hope that helps.

Thank you both SO much!
I'm planning on buying my molds online, since I don't think stores near me have any. I will definitely be getting the EasyCast resin.
I'm so excited to try it out!

Hi Callie,

Google a website called Resin Obsession. It has amazing mould and there own brand resin is cheap, safe and very easy to use. As well as having good tutorials it also has little tips and hints and is based in the USA. Hope I helped! x

I'm interested in this, but have no idea where to get the materials (without going online) or how to do it.

I imagine one could make adorable Christmas tree ornaments this way, though. Happy
