Pill Bottle recycling

I know the animal shelter here could use them as cat toys. Just a few buttons or pebbles inside makes a great rattle for cats to roll around. Keeps them from being too bored before they get adopted. I'm still trying to figure out what to to do with the big ones I have. . .

We put water in the empty pill bottles then freeze them to use for burns. They work great if grab a hot pot handle and burn the palm of your hand because you can just hold the bottle on the burn while you attempt to get other things done.

What about if you cut the bottles crosswise (so that you get circles) and put into something like a shadowbox or other frame or just glue them together to make art? I've seen this done on a larger scale with PVC pipe, but I think that the amber colored plastic would look cool, because of the way it would catch the light. It might look something like this: OOOOOOO
oOOOOOo
OOOOOOO
oOOOOOo
(the smaller circles would be from the smaller, skinnier bottles)
Just a thought. I use my extra bottles to keep stitch markers and tapestry needles in my knitting bag.

When I read that out in my head I thought it was just someone going "ooooooooooooooh!" a lot. Which of course would be amazing.

I've reused them as tiny first aid kits. A couple bandaids, a cough drop, a couple tissues, ibuprofen in a little plastic bag (the ones that hold the extra button from blouses and jackets are perfect). Fits in my purse, the car glove box, toiletries bag when staying overnight somewhere.

There are lots of organizations that could use clean ones for craft type things. Boys and Girls Club, or Girl Scouts, or a local church or daycare.

I never reuse them, I have kids that would mistake them as toys. D: But here's a few ideas.

Put aspirin in them and keep it in your purse just in case you need one.

Separate coins using different bottles.

Glue a bunch together and cover with paper/fabric/ribbon and use as pencil holder.

You could use them as "inspiration bottles" i.e. put an inspirational quote or two inside with some extra things like beads, dried herbs or flowers, etc in and give them to friends.
