Ice Cream

So I was just wondering if anyone has tried to make their own ice cream from scratch. I saw a couple of recipes for it so I know some of you are out there, don't hide. Personally, I love making ice cream. I also thought that we needed an ice cream topic. There is always room for ice cream. :3
So what kind do you make?
Do you ever make vegan ice cream?
Do you have a favorite ice cream shop?
What's your favorite brand when you're not making your own?
And of course what the best flavor?

I don't make my own ice cream but I guess it isn't too hard and should give it a go! Happy

My favourite flavour is clotted cream because it reminds me of my childhood Happy my next favourite is mint choc chip or the organic strawberry flavour. Yummmy!

No, it's not too hard, it just takes a little while, but you don't need to do much.
I really like odd flavors like basil, I plan on making it sometime soon. I also like orange and chocolate chip. Citrus + Chocolate = The Ultimate.

You can also make vegan ice cream. My mom made it once before using coconut milk, it was avocado flavors though. Great color not so great taste in my opinion, but then again I hate coconut. X3

I have made ice cream once. It was the kind where you put it in all those bags and shake it up. I had vanilla. It was okay but sometimes it was a little salty or you got a whole loads of vanilla taste which was good. I haven't ever tried vegan ice cream before. I wonder what ingredients they use. My favorite shop is Ben and Jerry's. I have never went to any of there scoop shops but I really want to. (Oh and that answers the the favorite brand one..knocked out two birds birds with one cone...tehee stupid pun..)
My favorite flavor is berry voluntary. It is raspberry cheesecake flavored with white chocolate chunks in it boy that stuff is good!

I've done Ice cream in a bag before, I think you just have to eat it all at once. X3
Vegan ice cream is actually pretty good, tastes very much the same, unless you go the coconut root.

@Aneniine: I just have an old by hand ice cream maker. It's essencially a bowl that's made to stay cold with a top that has a churner attached. It's quite a hassle but very worth it. :3

I learned how to make ice cream from a lab in chemistry a couple years ago. It was actually pretty good too. I made it at home a couple times but it gets annoying when some of the salt finds its way into your ice cream >___< I hardly go into ice cream shops; I usually just buy from a regular store but I LOVE butter pecan ^___^

My grandfather was a huge butter pecan fan, he liked anything with nuts really. There's a great place by my house that does a sundae with butter pecan, vanilla, hot fudge, marshmallow cream, and whipped cream. It's pretty killer.

When i was in 6th grade i went to a friends birthday party, and at night her dad made us handmade ice cream churned in an old ice-bucket. OMG it was soooooo good. I can still taste it! lol (& that was freakin ages ago)
Ive never made my own ice cream, but its on my to-do list. I'm just afraid its not gonna be as good as i remember lol. Curned in the vintage ice cream bucket. *drools on computer*

My favorite ice cream is Ben & Jerrys Cherry Garcia.
I'm gonna have to try vegan ice cream now since i stopped drinking milk this year. XD
