DIY The Look

HerNameIsAlixx recreates the 50's inspired style of Imelda May.

I love her style as it revolves around the classic and modern interpretations of 50's fashion. she mainly wears fitted dresses, with the exception of a few party petticoats! her signature item is her quiff, which, when asked for styling tips, she simply says "Just use a tonne of hairspray.

Katherine Rose from Only Frills and Horses recreates the kawaii style of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

Kyary's style is always cute, fun and creative but she doesn't really go overboard with accessories, instead letting the clothes or a central accessory do the talking. She's also a big fan of 6% DOKIDOKI, so I've picked tutorials which remind me of them. She popularized aomoji kei and creepy cute styles, so that's the main focus here. She's often seen in a fluffy skirt, and this pom pom tutu skirt looks right up her street. Paired with the cute but not too OTT top, we've got the central idea for the outfit. Doc martin boots are comfortable and cute footwear, sprucing them up with some cute & unique studs is a fun idea! You could even paint the studs cute colors for some extra pop. Melting tights and eyeball bows give a creepy edge to the outfit. Add cute decora clips using interesting objects to add some extra pop, and this colorful bracelet is simple enough to be added without taking away from the other accessories. The pom pom gloves are an interesting addition too. I'd recommend making up all the projects in a color scheme of three or four pastel and/or bright shades to streamline them all. For hair and makeup, Kyary is almost always seen with straight cut bangs, accompanied with simple or fun and complicated styles, so that's really up to you. I'd recommend some simple bunches. Big exaggerated eyes complete the look!

Emily from Love Emmarie recreates the chic style of model Karlie Kloss.

Karlie Kloss has been one of my biggest role models, sources of fashion inspiration and my all time favorite model since I saw her in Teen Vogue way back in 2010. I was just a precious little 8th grader at the time, so I thank God that I looked up to her instead of some other crazy. Every aspect of her is at "goals" level. Her style is simple, classy and elegant, she's positive and caring, and her friendship with Taylor Swift is the definition of friend goals. She's also very tall like myself, which is another reason she's an inspiration to me. I know that if she can rock stilettos on the daily, so can I. I picked out some pieces to create a look that would be perfect for a upscale birthday brunch in the city. A classic A-line skirt and striped top paired up with an embellished trench and some glittery pumps to add some "pizzazz" if you will. I kept the accessories simple with a pretty gold collar necklace and a envelop clutch. Finish off the entire look with a day time appropriate smokey eye and classic vintage waves and you've got yourself ready for the day.
