DIY The Look
This week PinkWeeds recreates the look of Daenerys from Game Of Thrones:
What I love about Daenerys Targaryen is she knows who she is and she is completely confident in her own skin. Her style is completely reflective of her life and the different places she finds herself. Ironically it isn't when she's dressed in silk gowns that she is most herself, but when she's in rough leathers and woven cloaks that she seems most confident.
This week Juliet recreates the victorian steampunk look of musician and Snippets coverstar, Emilie Autumn:
DIY the style of Emilie Autumn, a well-known electric violin player, singer, actress and poet. She carefully selects amazing clothes from the Victorian era, corsets and striped stockings, adding sometimes a hint of fantasy and sometimes a Steampunk inspired accessory. Prepare yourself a cup of tea and welcome to her Asylum: but remember that it's easier to get in than to get out...
This week Cazz from Nerd Burger recreates the bright & colorful look of singer Cyndi Lauper:
I have always looked up to Cyndi Lauper. This 80s icon was always unique both in music and fashion. From her brightly coloured hair to her mixing of patterns, this rad lady always knew how to make people smile. Cyndi taught me many things about life. It's ok to wear one earring, leg warmers are both fashionable and warm and sometimes girls do just want to have fun.
This week Stacie from Stars For Streetlights recreates the eccentric style of Iris Apfel:
I've always been a huge fan of Iris Apfel's bold and colorful style since I first read an article in a magazine about her. I think the way she mixes texture, color, and natural elements is pure artistry. With my Cut Out + Keep list, I tried to find accessory-heavy projects that were colorful, included surprising elements, and felt sophisticated yet deliciously over-the-top. I can only hope that when I am older I have enough confidence and presence to pull off half of what Iris Apfel is able to do.
