When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?
I got into cooking about the same time I learned to walk into the kitchen. I come from a family of cooks so that influenced my love of food and cooking from a very early age. I don't recall my first recipe but it was probably either some sort of Italian dish with my family or, I had a kids cookbook with a recipe for every letter of the alphabet and I always loved making the chocolate chip cookies and banana bread.
What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?
In true New York fashion, my kitchen is teeny tiny and cramped. I like to cook first and clean later, which often results in a bit of a tornado-like atmosphere. Luckily, my husband is more of the mentality of "clean as you go", so I have him to thank for staying organized!
What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?
Just get in the kitchen and keep cooking. Don't be afraid to mess up or change things or make mistakes. Some of the greatest recipes have come from kitchen mistakes!
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?
Blake Lively, Martha Stewart, Jackie O, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Justin Timberlake, Sarah Jessica Parker, Georgia O'Keeffe and Mother Teresa, and I would cook my family recipe for spaghetti & meatballs with a DIY ice cream sundae bar for dessert
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I like to sew, draw/paint, knit and read, when/if I have time
Which cooking blogs do you love to read?
Dessert for Two, Pinch of Yum
