When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?
I honestly can't remember the year I first started knitting. I taught myself to knit from a book I purchased from a local craft stored called A.C. Moore. I remember throwing the needles across the room the first time I tried to juggle two needles AND the yarn (I promise I don't have anger management issues and am a nice person.). The next day, I approached the needles again and the rest is history.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
My first project was a sweater. Well, I actually started with a scarf but after knitting a couple of rows I thought I'd just start on a sweater-which is what I really wanted to knit anyway. I didn't know the first thing about knitting sweaters and just thought I'd teach myself what I needed to know along the way.
Who are your favourite pattern designers and celebrity knitters & crocheters?
Norah Gaughan, Shirley Paden, Melissa Leapman, Jared Flood. I tend to be drawn to designers who love cables or have a good eye for detail.
What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?
I love designing sweaters. My favorite sweater is a cable-laden number that took a few months to design and knit during a "Design-Along" held by Shirley Paden on Ravelry. I was so proud of it when it was done and learned so much.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
Scandal, Modern Family, How to Get Away with Murder, comedies on NetFlix.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I knew how to crochet before I knit, so I'm pretty decent at that. I also sew very little, but plan to start making more clothes so that I can get better.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Just that I really appreciate the opportunity to share my love for knitting with others.
