When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?
I first got into cooking when I was 14, as I somehow became very interested in healthy eating and preparing homemade meals. So I figured, if I want to eat healthy or at least healthier than I used to, I should start making my own meals, baking own cookies, frying pancakes etc. That's how it all started :)
One of the first recipes I tried was a recipe for banana pancakes. They were simple but tasted really good! I still come back to this recipe sometimes.
What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?
My kitchen is rather small. Sometimes it annoys me, but a big plus of this state of things is that everything I need while cooking is always near at hand. About keeping organized... I am not sure if I manage to do that actually :) When I cook, I just take the ingredients I need out of the cupboard and after I use them, I just put them on the worktop or wherever I find some empty space. So at the end of the day, my kitchen is pretty much a messy place :P
What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?
One of the best things you can do is simply try new recipes! At first, I'd recommend you using some tried recipes, or the ones that you will find in good, old, paper cook books... and when you feel more confident, you can transform them or try to create your own :) You can also learn a lot by helping people who have more experience in cooking to create something in the kitchen - for example, you can bake a cake with a family member who is a cooking enthusiast.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?
Obviously my favourite band, The Vamps, haha! Brad Simpson, Connor Ball, James McVey and Tristan Evans :) Unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about their favourite tastes and dishes... which is why I would cook something typically Polish for them, as I am almost sure they have never tasted traditional Polish cuisine. Homemade Polish Pierogi and Pączki would definitely be on the menu!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
No, I do not do any other crafts - cooking is my one and only love. My other hobbies are reading, running and taking pictures, though I am still learning and trying to become better at it.
Which cooking blogs do you love to read?
I totally love https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/ blog! It's full of inspiration and beautiful photos. I also like https://msfobiablog.wordpress.com/author/msfobiablog/ blog, created by a Polish woman currently living in Switzerland :)
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I am very glad to become part of the Cut Out + Keep website, as in this way I believe I may get to know new people who like cooking just like me... and new people may get to know me, which is super cool! If you consider using any of my recipes, let me just tell you, Buttermilk Pancakes are my favourites :)
