When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?
My parents were fantastic cooking role models. My mom cooked most of our meals, and my dad did all the baking. Watching them in the kitchen made me want to cook. I believe my first recipe was tuna melts, out of a kids' cookbook.
What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?
My kitchen is small! Living in an apartment means I have to make do with little space. I try to clean and put things away as I go in order to make the most of the room I have.
What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?
The more you cook, the better you'll become! Pick a type of food (like cupcakes) and try a variety of recipes. You'll get to know the commonalities which will allow you to create your own versions more easily. The first time you try a new dish, follow the recipe exactly!
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?
All of the big food bloggers. It would be a potluck, but I'd make the dessert!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I craft here and there, but cooking/baking is my passion. When I'm not in the kitchen, I'm on the internet--blogging, surfing the web, tweeting, and catching up on shows.
