Making wrapped links for bracelets & necklaces
The idea for this came about because I wanted a different type of chain link from my usual ones. You see I get bored easily and so I am always up for new challenges. So I started 'playing' around with different types of links until I decided to settle for this one. Although, this technique is actually used for clasps, I think it is also good for safely securing your necklace or bracelet, at least you don't have to worry about it coming off without you noticing. As mentioned in my earlier I prefer to work directly from the reel of the wire so as to avoid waste, I just don't have the patience for measuring and cutting wire. Here goes:

Step 1
Start by making a loop by placing the wire in the middle part of your nose pliers.
Step 2
Form second loop on the other end of the wire.
Step 3
Cut the tail off the reel of wire.
Step 4
Start wrapping using the round nose pliers, continue wrapping until the wraps meet, cut and 'tuck in' any wire sticking out. File any edges. Now you are ready for the links.You can end here if you just want a clasp.

Step 5
Continue the links.

Make loop as before, placing it in the already made first link
Step 6
Repeat steps 4 and 5 to complete. Continue until you have made as many links as you desire.
