• 

  Step 1

  To make your candle, you'll need an egg.

• 

  Step 2

  Pierce a hole at either side of the egg with an awl.

• 

  Step 3

  Holding the egg over a glass, blow through the top of the egg until all the contents has blown out into the glass.

  Wash off the egg and make a larger hole at the bigger side of the egg, large enough to pour some wax through.

• 

  Step 5

  Cut a long length of wick and thread it though the smaller side of the egg and out of the other side.

• 

  Step 6

  Knot the wick at the small side of the egg and then tape the the wick at the top to the side of the egg.

• 

  Step 7

  You can use regular wax or just remove the wicks from a couple of tealights.

• 

  Step 8

  Break the wax into a microwave safe pot.

• 

  Step 9

  Melt the wax in a microwave.

• 

  Step 10

  Carefully pour the wax into the egg until it hits the top.

• 

  Step 11

  Leave the wax to set for several hours.

• 

  Step 12

  Carefully remove the egg shell from the candle.

• 

  Step 13

  Using a cutting knife, slice off the side at the smaller end of the candle so that it can sit flat on a surface.

  Step 14

  Use a carving tool to make two holes for eyes on the front of the candle.

• 

  Step 15

  Make a small triangle hole in the middle for a nose.

• 

  Step 16

  Use a cutting knife to cut a slit for a mouth.

• 

  Step 17

  Add a few vertical slits for teeth and two dents at either side of the mouth for the jaw.

• 

  Step 18

  Finally, carve cheekbones at either side of the face and shape the top of the eyes for the brow.

• 

  Step 19

  Clean away any excess wax and perfect your shapes to your liking.

• 

  Step 20

  Paint the inner eyes, nose, teeth and jaw line with some black glitter to highlight the features.

• 

  Step 21

  Trim the top of the wick and your waxwork candle is ready to display.
