Made for the annual TREK-mas (and Star Wars) X-Mas room in my house
I love the holidays, and to me and my family Star trek and X-Day goes hand in hand thanks to the inspiration of the many awesome Hallmark Holiday ornaments!
I made this for the TREK-mas (and Star Wars) X-Mas room in my house (you can see it in the background of the first pic) as the centerpiece to what will hopefully be a new family tradition to our 'Holiday Nerd-ism.'
Inside is a wood block with four holes drilled in for wooden pegs (which was the hardest to design and get right) I then sculpted the Enterprise body in homemade rice krispies as a base, then designed, baked and built the cookie pieces around it, and finally covered the whole thing in frosting to give it that classic Enterprise look!
The cookie recipe I used is technically not gingerbread but a recipe specifically made for building complex gingerbread designs, (I didn't want to take a chance using a traditional soft gingerbread recipe with the top disk!) the pieces ended up being incredibly sturdy! I still gotta make the Emblem sugar cookies, but I'm taking the rest of the night off!
The cookie recipe I used is here:

Here are some similar tutorials to help you make this one!
if it was on christmas eve, we'd be getting things ready for christmas, preping for the meal and fine tuning the cleanning while watching/listening to it.
if it was the week before christmas i'd bake and make candy watching it on a small tv in the kitchen.
on year they played it on christmas, and we had a house full of people, and of course, being the trekker i am, it was on. we played name that episode. you had to name it during the tease. of course i won.
thanks for bringing back some really great memories for me.
Live Long and Prosper!
