with some left over fabric and a little superglue!
I wanted a new purse but after a disappointing shopping trip where the purses I liked either didn't have a layout I liked or didn't have a price tag I liked I decided to make my own!

  • How to make a wallet. Up Cycled Purse - Step 1
    Step 1

start with the purse you want to up-cycle. I love the layout of this purse, but have gone off the colour a little and the corners and edges are a bit battered

    Step 2

find a piece of fabric that will cover your purse and that you like! This is an off-cut from a skirt I bought with the intention of modifying (future project)

    Step 3

glue the edge of the fabric to the edge of the purse. I'm sure you could use fabric glue as well, I just went for what was at hand. REMEMBER don't cover too much inside or you won't be able to use the card slots!
And I would recommend gloves or something to hold the fabric down when gluing to avoid becoming physically attached to your purse! (learnt that the hard way)

    Step 4

If you need to, cut slits or holes for poppers and zips and glue round the edges. I found the purse still popper-ed shut without cutting the fabric and with a fold in the fabric concealed the slit I cut for the zip at the back.
And that's it ... a brand new purse!
