Step 1find a piece of cardboard that suits your personal taste for a sign.
paint the base coat a dark brown.
paint palm trees, hibiscus flowers, tiki totems, etc.
write your name, and "tiki hideaway" using a peach paint base.
using puffy paint, go over everything, "highlighting" areas that you want light to reflect off.
you can choose to leave it a perfect rectangle, or do as i did and cut out your sign in a funky shape.
i hot-glued pieces of bamboo skewers for added "effect".
