From a tragically lost shawl
I bought a beautiful shawl at the University of Borås in Sweden which has a great Textiles and Design school, but unfortunately only wore it once before it ended up in the washing machine, and then shrunk.

So rather than throwing it away I decided to craft myself the perfect wallet - something I've never been able to find in shops.

Here are my requirements:
- At least twelve card slots
- A large coin purse
- Two slots for notes/vouchers/business cards
- All zips together.

So I made one, combining several tutorials I found for DIY wallets and adjusting it to my specifications.

It's made from the shrunken shawl and some bits of plain cotton, along with chunky zips. I'm also pleased that I managed to incorporate the designer's button into the new wallet.

It's far from perfect (if you look at it properly it's more trapezoid than rectangle!) but I like it anyway, and have had lots of compliments!

Oh and the little pocket on the front is for my travel card so it's easy to access!
