About
just as sweet as sugar but now with less tooth decay!
The other weekend, I found some awesome 3-D sugar skull stickers at the craft store, and some nifty round glitter discs for scrapbooking. I had never seen either of them before, and I'm all about the shiny things and the glitter, so I had to buy some and make a little project that incorporated them.
I started out with a small plain wooden box with a sliding lid. (The box is about 4 1/4" tall and 2 1/4" wide) and I painted it with 2 coats of cotton candy pink acrylic. Then I gave it a nice thick coat of clear sealer, and added the skull sticker to the center of the lid. I used little clear rhinestones and some red teardrop shaped rhinestones to make a flower design above the skull and some extra florishes on the top and bottom. Used some larger purple rhinestones to accent the matching heart sticker on top, then used red, pale pink, and black rhinestones placed randomly around the flat purple glitter-filled discs.
The time is a general idea, there. I tried to figure in the amount of time I waited for the paint and clear coat to dry.
