Based on Sweater Boots!! by Niamh O.
I made this purse out of a leftover sweater piece. From making sweater boots.
It was the mid section of the sweater, The sides were already sewn, I turned it inside out and stitched the bottom,It mad a big rectangle. then I made a 1/2" or so hem around the top leaving some open to put elastic through. Then I pulled the elastic through, pulled it up tight as you want, this is your opening. Then sew the two ends of the elastic together then finish your hem. The top will be round now and the bottom will be rectagle, doesn't look just right yet so I turned it inside out and held the bottom seam up and tied a knot in the end of the string then weaved the string through both layers next to the seam so that when you pull the string tight the bottom of the rectangle will sinch up. Tie a knot in the end of the string close to the purse. Turn it right side out and voila all you have to do is add some handles. Use your imagination try to use as much as the sweater as possible. You could also make an easy hat with the sweater left overs.

This is just hilarious! I have the exact same sweater that I was planning to use for this exact same project! Cool purse too!
