balloon basket
Part 2! A bit more of a success with florist wire that didn't break so easily:)

This finished faster than I thought it would! Now I want to make some as easter basket ornaments, with round beads for eggs in the center:)

I made this a while ago, and was too lazy to charge the camera for begining pictures, but you can use the first basket for reference, only making a circular shape. I hope the paint pictures are clear enough. If anything is unclear, reference the first basket.

You Will Need

  • How to make a wire necklace. Super Junior Balloons Pendant Part 2 - Step 1
    Step 1

First- find a good, clear picture of the basket. This one is much easier to find, especially because there are clearer pictures and I think they both are using this one in all the shows after that first one in August.

Twist 2 wires together. Cut them so there are 3 long wires total. Bend them into the shape seen in blue. Cross them together as seen in the picture. (click to enlarge so you can see the entire picture)

    Step 2

Take another wire and put it around the center where the 3 wires cross. Twist that wire as well, so you will have 7 branches off the center.

    Step 3

Twist the end of a long wire around the center, and start weaving it around like a basket. It is alright if the wire shape of the basket becomes unbent, as long as you have an idea of how big you want the base of the basket to be before bending them back.

    Step 4

Once you get to the end of the base, rebend the wires back to form the structure of the sides of the basket.

    Step 5

Add 2 wires to join the one wire that was weaving at the bottom. If you notice in any pictures of the basket, the sides are woven in strands of 3. Begin weaving up the sides with all 3 wires.

    Step 6

Once you reach almost the top of the basket, make a rim with 2 twisted wires

    Step 7

Begin weabving with only one wire again and start to make the woven part fan out (reference your searched pictures!)

    Step 8

Make another rim with 2 twisted wires

    Step 9

Attatch the ends of 4 wires together to one end of the basket, and braid them to create a handle.

You can also add wires through the base of the basket to fill in any holes, and add blue beads for confetti. You can also add a blue star or heart charm.

    Step 10

The wires before adding the confetti might look somewhat like this. Attatch the end of the handle to the other side.

    Step 11

Gather the beads you will use for the balloons

(in case no one noticed in the first basket, 13 + 2 + 1in the shape of a heart) beads were used)

    Step 12

For the top-most ballon, pull wire through, and make a loop so you can fit a chain, or jumpring, through it.

Curl the end sticking out so the bead would not fall back down, and so it would look more like the end of a balloon ribbon

    Step 13

Do the same with the other beads, except make a knot with the wire at the top of the bead instead of a loop (or any other way you can make the wire like a headpin)

Gather all of the balloons in a bunch

Continue until you have a large bunch of ballons

Use a light green ribbon and make 2 small rosettes for the sides of the baskets

Use wires and thread to tie and sew on the ribbons to the sides of the handles

    Finished!

You can also add an angel wing charm, and blue heart. I also added the word "ELF" on the heart balloon.

I have a how-to on how to make this wing.

It's hard to see, but it's there.
You can use tutorals on spelling words with wire to make this.
