About
Honour the hot days and cool nights of a very British summer
This beautiful blanket came about by accident really. I had some leftover Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran yarn from some other projects and just thought I'd do a few stripes of the yellow and coral to use it up practising a new stitch - "V-Stitch". Then came along the white which really brightened everything up but was so crisp and cool that I wondered about adding another cool colour in, which I did with the blue. I then kept staring at it thinking - this doesn't match, but I like it. I decided it really did make me think of the hot summer sun and how it can cool right off in a British summer come evening! It all just grew from there really and I ended up having to buy loads more of the yarn to get it finished. I haven't added a border as I think sometimes they can make blankets look a bit twee or like a baby's blanket. Whilst this is absolutely fine for particular styles of blanket, it didn't feel right on this one, which is an altogether more modern vision. It's quite an investment money-wise, but it will last a lifetime. You could make a smaller version to cut the cost in half. I hope you enjoy making it.
