About
The mindwarp of this skirt is totally worth it
Every time I think about making a spiral skirt my brain falls off. This is just too surreal. How does this work? Why do they say the skirt turns out shorter than expected? Where does the length go? How much fabric will I need? How do I make my skirt extra fluffy if I can't understand the pattern? Should I worry about the direction of threads?
But spiral skirts are so pretty and look so cool and it will be perfect for dancing barefoot on wet grass...
A glass of sparkling wine (to calm me down) and two old soft tired bedsheets (in case everything goes wrong and I'll have to throw it away) and off we go.

Step 1
Draw a circle on a large sheet of paper and a smaller circle to make it shaped like a spiral. I used this drawing (http://www.janelwashere.com/crafts/craftpics/spiralv2_shape.jpg) from this page http://www.janelwashere.com/crafts/spiral_skirts.html
I think it's about half a meter in diameter.
