You Will Need
-
Step 1
get ingredients: (im a newbie and couldn't figure out how to make the "you will need" button work)
-2 cups flour
-half cup of salt
-about .75 of a cup of water
-food coloring (optional-but i didnt use it) -
Step 2
Mix the flour and the salt in a separate bowl
-
Step 3
Add water in the bowl and mix until it feels squishy like dough
-
Step 4
knead the "dough" you made for about 15 minutes...or keep kneading it until it feels flexible enough so you can bend it without it falling to pieces/ripping.
-
Step 5
shape the beads. I made some pendants, regular round beads, and any other shape you want!
-
Step 6
Make a hole in the bead. Make sure you make the holes somewhat big-they shrink when they bake. Trust me, i learned the hard way. (If they do close up after baking use a small drill to make the holes better. My dad helped me :)
-
Step 7
Bake your beads in the oven at 250 degrees (F) for 2-3 hours-mine took 3 hours. Check them regularly to make sure that they dont burn when they get close to 3 hrs.
-
Step 8
Take them out of the oven and let them cool down.
-
Step 9
paint/decorate beads. I used acrylic paint and to make them shiny i used clear nail polish! haha. The paint should dry fairly quick but just to make sure, you should wait about and hour or two before using them.
-
Step 10
MAKE SOMETHING! :D
I wanna make tons !
