You Will Need
-
Step 1
BAND
ch 9
Row 1: sc in each ch starting in 2nd ch, ch 1, turn
Row 2: sc in each ch BACK LOOP only, ch 1, turn
Rows 3 - 50: repeat Row 2 (you can adjust the amount of rows to fit your head. Decrease to make it smaller/tighter or increase to make it bigger)
Fasten the two ends together by sc across both ends.AND you have an earband :-)
-
Step 2
BEGINNING THE SLOUCHY
Keeping your seem from sewing your two ends together OUT, ch 1, sc around your band. sl st with the ch 1 to fasten, ch 2
This can be a little tricky since there is are no regular stitches. My suggestion would be to keep your stitching even, not squished together and over crowed, but not spaced out with holes. They should sit comfortably and stretch easily with the band.

Step 3
THE PART THAT MAKES IT A HAT ;-)
It's all about the puffs.I used the 3 dc puff st for this hat. If you want something thicker then use 4, for thinner use 2
Row 1: puff st in first space, ch 1, skip 1 space, puff st in the next space, continue all the way around, sl st in first puff st
Rows 2-13: repeat Row 1 (add a few more rows for more of a slouch!)You can change up the colors to add strips on your hat. I used a cream color with gold sparkles :-)
