Feathers- Im using cheap black, white and grey rooster feathers bought form a $2 shop

  • How to make a fascinator. Simple Fascinator, - Step 2
    Step 2

    Cut your base
I picked the teardrop style :D

Cut your base fabric into the shape of your base plus an inch all the way round

Also cut another piece thats just smaller than your base

  • How to make a fascinator. Simple Fascinator, - Step 3
    Step 3

Glue the base to the fabric
Pinch it as you glue the one inch down to the underside
Dont stress if its not perfect as your covering it.

I usually would then hand sew the edges of the base but im lazy :D

Glue the smaller piece of base material to the underside, this should make it appear neater :D

  • How to make a fascinator. Simple Fascinator, - Step 4
    Step 4

Glue the comb to the underside (you can do this step last if you prefer to check the comb is positioned right)

Then take an offcut of the base glue/stitch it to an offcut of the material used for the base and glue that to the comb.

    Another method i use-

Dont glue the underside piece of base material down in step three

Glue comb to underside base material,

complete above steps ( the usual step 4)

Then stich material ontop of comb to underside material
    this provides more security :D

  • How to make a fascinator. Simple Fascinator, - Step 5
    Step 5

    Glue/stitch ribbon to edges.

do this slowly or it will look messy

  • How to make a fascinator. Simple Fascinator, - Step 6
    Step 6

Cut 8 or so circle of the organza in different sizes

You can use alternating colours for a funky effect

  • Step 7

Burn all the edges of the chiffon (Purdy petals)

    Use a tealight and tweezers

    BE CAREFUL!
    don't burn yourself
that being said i think i am always burning myself lol :D

  • How to make a fascinator. Simple Fascinator, - Step 8
    Step 8

Glue petals on top of each other. Be careful glue is hot. You should stitch here too.

It helps if you use a small scrap of fabric to glue the flower to.

Glue your decal/button to the centre

  • Step 9

Arrange feathers wear you want them

Glue/sew down cover with a piece of matching ribbon or the base material

If you choose to sew please use a little glue too as it helps the feathers never fall

  • Step 10

    Glue flower into position

    Voila!

  • How to make a fascinator. Simple Fascinator, - Step 11
    Step 11

    To add Veil.

Cut tulle/ netting into a rectangle

Scrunch/pleat one side of the tulle and then about an inch of the longer side

    Sew onto a ribbon/fabric

    Glue to underside of fascinator.

    ooooh! Pretty Pretty Pretty!
