This is my first sewing project, I hope you understand everything, I didn't know how to explain it well. Also sorry for the shabby pictures, I forgot to take photos

  • How to make a high-waisted skirt. Ruffled Skirt - Step 1
    Step 1

    The fabric should have the double of your waist measurement by the lenght of your skirt.(you will need a bit more of fabris for the waist band)

    Now mark the middle of the fabric.

    Step 2

    Start doing folds looking to the center.

    Step 3

    When you finish doing the folds you sholud have something like this.

    Now take the waist band,pin it like this and flip the skirt.

    Step 4

    Turn also the waist band and sew it like in the picture.

    Step 5

    start sewing both ends together and add the zip at the end.

    You will also need to add a button to the waist band.

I used your basic process to make a skirt like this ^^ I used a really sheer fabric and it was more than twice the circumference of my waist so it would be really ruffly. Thanks for this tute!

yes, I think I understand you Happy you can iron the folds if you want to keep its shape but I just let them flow ^^

uh! sorry about answering so late! ok, I'm going to try to explain it as good as I can. You mark the centre and from there measure to one of the sides the double of the length you want the folds to be. Now take that mark and bring it to the centre, like that you should have created one fold. Secure it in place with pins. For doing the rest of the folds take the measurement and bring it where the firts fold starts. do the same with all the fabric in both sides.
