Romantic rose gold makeup tutorial
I was inspired to do this look because I have been wearing my favorite rose gold ring a lot lately. I looooove rose gold in jewelry because I think it has a great vintage/romantic feel to it. I know they still make it…you just don’t see it as much. Anyway, this look will work well on any eye color and looks especially nice if you have warm undertones. In brown or hazel eyes, the gold will bring out the gold flecks in the eye and blue eyes will be intensified because the gold and rose will make the blue deeper or brighter. If you don’t have these MAC colors, use a true gold, a light rose/pink and a deeper rose/pink/cranberry. Enjoy!
Products Used: MAC Eyeshadows in “Woodwinked”, “Girlie” and “Cranberry”, MAC Paint Pot in “Soft Ochre”, NYX Lipstick in “Peach”

You Will Need

  • How to create a gold eye makeup look. Rose Gold Eyes - Step 1
    Step 1

Apply your concealer all over the lid up to the brow, all around the eye and underneath the eye. Apply your eyeshadow primer…I used MAC’s Paint Pot in “Soft Ochre”. Using a big fluffy, apply “Woodwinked” all over the lid and up.. stopping just before the brow bone. It will look something like this:

Using a tapered big fluffy or a bullet brush, apply “Cranberry” into the crease and the outer “V”. Wipe off your brush and pick up some “Girlie” on it. Apply just a little bit of “Girlie” right above the inner corner and up/to the right…we are just adding some dimension to the eye. You can’t see the impact of “Girlie” that much in the first photo but check out the closed eye photo below and the final look photo and you can see it. You can also add some girlie right where “Woodwinked” meets the brow bone for some added flair (I did not do that here…just giving you some options for the future)It should look something like this:

    Step 3

Using a stiff brush, apply your highlight color from the brow bone down into the inner corner. Lightly blend your colors together…I say “Lightly” because these colors easily flow together and don’t require much blending. Pick up some “Woodwinked” on a bullet brush and apply it on the lower lash line from the inside corner halfway along the eye. Pick up some “Cranberry” (or “Girlie” if you want a more subtle look) and apply it along the lower lash line where the “Woodwinked” ends to the end of the eye. It should look something like this:

Add some false lashes, I used Andrea #33 lashes and apply a coat of mascara to blend them into your real lashes. Your final product will look something like this.

Gorgeous! I think I can make this toned-down enough to work for me Happy
