Super Simple Homemade Rice Milk
I'd never imagined it would be so easy. I am a big fan of Rice Milk, but but I go through Cereal phases, and usually end up throwing away half the container of Milk. I hate to waste it! So, I stumbled upon a recipe in my sisters 'How it all vegan' cookbook!

  • Step 1

    The recipe calls for

    2 Cups Cooked Brown Rice
    2 Cups Water
    1 Tbs Maple Syrup
    1 Tsp Vanilla

  • Step 2

After you've cooked the rice, let it cool, and then put it into a Food Processor, or Blender

  • Step 3

    Add the Water

  • Step 4

Blend away! Add more water as needed, I ended up using about 4 cups of water by the end.

  • Step 5

Add your choice of sweetner, to taste, and Vanilla (I didn't have any, and it turned out quite good with just the maple syrup)

  • Step 6

Straining is optional. I didn't have a small enough strainer, and my brilliant idea to use a coffee filter, failed.

There are a few bits, but I don't plan to drink it by itself, I've used it on cereal, and quinoa, couldn't notice any bits of rice.

  • Step 7

Easily adjustable, want a smaller amount of milk? use less rice, and water.

It really is that easy! I really did like it on cereal! I'm not a big drinker of any kind of milk by itself.

Wow! That's so awesome.

I learned how to make almond milk a while back, and that seemed like too expensive of an endeavor. But brown rice? That's super cheap (comparatively, anyway).
