Add style to your hardworking ironing board cover
This quick and satisfying project will be sure to increase your sewing pleasure. Stained, ratty ironing board covers can be dispiriting, and a simple reversible cover is surprisingly uplifting and may even motivate you to sew more!

    1. Press and place the fabric pieces with right sides facing on a large surface (or if using the same fabric for both sides, fold in half right sides facing). Trace your ironing board onto the top fabric. Add 4 inches all around.

    Cut out fabrics. I used an off-white cotton/linen blend on one side and a natural linen for the other side.

    With right sides facing, sew 1/4" from edge, leaving an opening of about 4".

    Clip curves, turn right side out and press, folding in the seam allowance at the opening. Stitch 1/2" from outer edge to create elastic casing.

    Thread elastic through opening and make sure that the cover fits snugly on the ironing board. Double check that the elastic isn't twisted and zig zag stitch elastic ends together, then slip stitch opening closed. All done!
