Kitschy tin turned into a fun and quirky accessory
Deconstruct a pretty metal container and use the reclaimed metal to create a pair of kitschy earrings.

    Find a pretty tin, that is in good condition, preferably without rust, discoloration or dents.
    Make sure to wipe it down so it is clean

    Using tin snips, very carefully deconstruct the can along the side seam and across the bottom.

    Use great care, edges are extremely sharp.

    With a nylon mallet flatten the metal

    Use a disc cutter to cut out circles from the tin. If you don't have access to a cutter, you can use a circle template & a fine point sharpie to trace the shape and the tin snips to cut it out.

    File the edges of the discs with file and sandpaper to ensure there are no sharp edges. Punch a small hole a the top of two circles to form a pair.

    Add ear wires and any beads you'd like for embellishment.
