Upcycle a wire coat hanger and some old clothes into a pretty room accessory
I wanted to make a little something out of my daughter's baby clothes instead of just throwing them away. This heart shaped rag wreath is just perfect for a little girl's room and it's full of memories...

    Step 1

    Take a wire coat hanger and pull it down in the centre, forming a point. (Stages 1 to 3 can all be done by hand without the use of pliers.)

    Smooth out the two side corners.

    Bring the top sides up to form the top curves of the heart.

    Loop the hook around to form a circle - you may or may not need pliers for this part, depending on how strong you are!

    Wrap garden twine around the hook part of the hanger. This holds it together and seals in the sharp edges of the wire.

    Step 6

    With pinking shears, cut strips of old baby clothes that are about 3cm by 17cm. Keep knotting the strips onto the wreath, evenly spacing the different coloured strips around the wire heart until it is completely full with no room for any more.

    You may want to finish it off with some battery powered fairy lights for that extra girlie touch.
