  • How to make a lace headband. Quick Vintage Lace Headband - Step 1
    Step 1

Measure the circumference of you head where you would like the headband to sit. The circumference of my head is 56cms - you will need to adjust the lengths of the trim/elastic accordingly.

    Step 2

Cut the 1m of lace trim in half. Cut 2 x 5cms of elastic. If your head measurement is larger than mine (this is likely as I have a small head), add length to the elastic pieces.

    Step 3

Sew the elastic to the two ends of the lace, making two separate headbands. I also topstitched over the loose ends to hold them down and to add strength to the seam.

Sew a line of stitching across the middle of the two slightly overlapped pieces of elastic. This will keep the two headbands together. You could also cross them over on a diagonal if you want the headbands to cross over on the top of your head.

    Thats it, you're done!
