I wanted to go simple, but alas, I wasn't satisfied and ended up with this :3
So there, I saw pink foam flowers in a bookstore and decided to buy them and make a simple cutesy headband. But I wasn't satisfied with how it sat on my hair, so I added ribbons...and well, still not satisfied so I made it lolita-ish. XD

and LOL sorry for the instructions. My brain's all screwed up today. @___@

  • How to make a lace headband. Gothic Rose Lolita Headband - Step 1
    Step 1

Gather all your materials. For this project, I used: 3 Pink Foam Roses (one size only); 1/2" wide Brown Satin Ribbon; 1" wide Black Satin Ribbon; and 1 1/2" wide Black Lace Trim.

Verify where you want your roses to be situated. Wrap the Foam Rose's wire stem around the Plastic Headband. It's better if you use the thin one, so it'll be more secure. Be sure to leave space between each rose.

Wrap your Brown Satin Ribbon around the plastic headband starting from one end of the headband to the other. Be sure to wrap it tightly, or else it will look ugly in the end. :( Secure the ends of the ribbon with hot glue.

Make your Bow. Here, I just made a standard bow with tails, and then attached it to the plastic headband by sewing it (because I didn't have hot glue at that time). It's easier to stick it down with glue though.

Now for the Lace Trim. Start from the underside of the Bow (gather it first so it won't look awkward sticking outside of the bow). And then sew it in between the spaces of the roses. Start from one side, working towards the topmost rose, and then going back to the bow area on the other side, Make sure to add a few pleats to make it look soft and wavy.

Actually, it's done now. You may choose to add beads, sequins or other details to make it look girlier. :3

I love all your headbands, such imagination, I am going to make a few for my daughter as she loves headbands, she is 25, only likes wide bands so these will be great. Thanks for sharing your craft work.
