i made these of red crepe paper for my eighth and junior prom, .....cool but we used a tear drop pattern, will try the heart next time

i know a similar method where i just draw a heart with a rectangle coming off the bottom which i cut down the middle and glue together after curling the top parts
using sheet music is an amazingly beautiful idea ^_^ nice how-to aswell

Rudilou, try wrapping the petals more loosely. Also, you might consider using a different type of paper-- stiffer or heavier paper holds curls better.

why is mine not working lol! maybe i'm just a dummy but it doesn't like curve around nicely it always makes my curls undo...please help

Luna, I couldn't bear to cut up any of my sheet music, so I just went to google images and printed out a few sheets of random music there.

It utterly gorgeous. I'm pretty obsessed with sheet music, i've covered a huge cabinet with sheet music for my moms birthday, covered my partners saxaphone case, and made my sister some covered glasses cases for her shop.
You've inspired me to branch out from just shoving it all over stuff! I'll be trying to make some pretty little delicate things now... i'll post you my efforts ;)
