About
Inspired by a half mask fascinator is saw on a wesite i made myself a mask... or 2... or 3!
To get the masks to fit my face, i made molds of my face using foil. although this is not the most accurate method; if ur paper-mache-ing skills are as poor as mine it wont make too much difference.
I used a mainly flour-water based mix, but added a bit of glue for reassurance. I used 2 layers of newspaper, 1 layer of thin soaked card + 1 more layer of newspaper
I let the paper mache dry in the sunshine for a few hours (will vary depending on thickness + wetness of paper-mache) and then painted them with ready-mix paint, the sort u buy kids - poster paint/acrylic wud've been better.
after leaving that to dry also I added detail using metallic paints, plastic gems (stuck on wit gd old pva - tho some are falling off now)
I went out and bought the flower + the feathers from a home-decor shop and added glitter to the flower using nail-polish :D
Still need to find better way of securing feathers/flower than currently doing, + also need to attach sticks/ribbons/hair-grips so they stay on my face :D
