ghoulish ghostly girl
Onry? (??) is a mythological spirit from Japanese folklore who is able to return to the physical world in order to seek vengeance. A friend of mine while living in NY asked me to make her sister a one of a kind doll. She told me about her personality and likes and this is what I came up with. Her eyes r missing and she is ghostly pale with blonde hair, generally these ghosts have black hair but my friend and her sisters r blondes so I figured it made more sense. Her face is air drying clay sculpted on a plastic ball with all cracks being repaired after fully drying as I do with all of my dolls. The wig was trimmed along the back and glued onto the head using hot glue. Her legs r thicker dowels that I first trimmed down with a craft knife then sanded smooth for a more feminine look. Her Geta or Japanese style sandals r made of balsa with the straps just painted onto her feet made of polymer clay. My friend wanted her a little more scary looking so I added blood to her hands and kimono as well as a serrated blade upon her request.
