Cute Craft for Kids!
I found this idea from another website...when I find it again I will post the URL.
My kids are 1 and 3 and they both enjoyed doing this project. They made theirs for the Grands for Xmas.
Cute craft to do for almost any occasion.
This project is very versatile...so you can choose how you want it to look.
*Sorry for the lack of photos*

  • Step 1

First off you will need to get some finger paint. You could either put some into a plate or (like I did) paint your childs hands with a brush. Then let your child press it onto a piece of construction paper.

  • Step 2

Lay the hand print(s) to the side to dry. In the meantime, let your kids pick out embellishments. (My son chose the feathers...and my daughter chose the bows.)

  • Step 3

While your kids are rummaging through your craft box for add ons...you can go ahead and write up this poem to go along with your "hands"......

    Step 4

    My Hand Print
    Sometimes you get discouraged
    Because I am so small
    And always leave my fingerprints
    On furniture and walls
    But everyday I'm growing big
And soon I'll be very tall
Then all my little hand prints
    Will be hard to recall
So here's a special hand print
Just so that you can say
this is how my fingers looked
when I placed them here today.

  • Step 5

When the hands dry...figure out how you want everything to lay. (My layout was very simple...but cute.) Now just tape your pieces down...or glue them. I chose to use tape instead of glue for fear of wrinkling my paper.

    Step 6

When you have finished taping and gluing...put your childs beautiful artwork into a picture frame. Now its all ready!

    Enjoy!

I like how you have displayed this. This really does make a wonderful keepsake for Grandparents and parents like and great way to get even very young kids involved in crafting by using the finger paint to make handprints.

I still have one like this from when my son was little and it does make a wonderful keepsake. Also kids like to show off how much they have grown when they visit by comparing the size of their hands when they were little to how big their hands get as they have grown.
