About
Cheap, easy, and quick mini hats anyone can make
I admit to having a sick love on mini hats. It actually stems from my secret love of steampunk, which isn't really something that you can incorporate into your style as an attorney. But, on Halloween I can indulge in my mini hat love.
These mini hats are just some of the possibilities that you can craft with a little hot glue and imagination. I really love these because they help use up all of the odds and ends ribbon scraps I have around the studio.
You can make this same hat by sewing all of the pieces to together, but it is really hard to sew the little corners.

Step 1
I will give you the instructions for the Queen of Hearts inspired mini top hat.
First, cut out the brim. I cut a heart that is about 4"x5". This is cut double and then I glued it together.
Always use HIGH temp glue guns. Low temp guns are nearly worthless and everything you make with them falls apart.

Step 10
Now you need to stick it on your head somehow. I glued this hat onto a headband. You can also glue the hat only a hair clip or a hair comb. For the little Marie Antoinette tricorn, I sewed it onto the wig.
I'm not doing a tutorial for the tricorn, but it was made the same way as this hat. Instead of a heart brim, you make a large circle. You pinch the circle into three corners and glue those - tri corn - get it. For that hat, I glued a layter of lace between the 2 layers of the brim and used many different trims. She won 2nd place in the costime contest.
Beautiful Hat by the way!!
