Step 1Make a template for your bag. It should be atleast the width of your zip. I used an A4 piece of paper, folded it in half and then cut it down to size.

Step 2Use your template to draw out the shape on to your fabric and cut this out.

Step 3Cut out your lining fabric and your cover fabric.

Step 4Pin the long sides of both pieces of fabric together and sew along this.

Step 5Pin one side, width ways, along the length of the zip and sew this in place.

Step 6Pin the other side of the bag to the zip.

Step 7Sew the other side up with the sewing machine. Unzip the zip so that you don't end up sewing the top of bag to the bottom of the bag.

Step 8Your zip should now be nice and secure.

Step 9Fold the bag inside out.

Step 10Sew up the remaining sides. Remember to leave the zip open or you wont be able to get back inside the bag.

Step 11Trim off any excess edges and fold inside out.

Step 12Make or buy a stencil, and using fabric or acrylic paint, decorate the bag.

Step 13Add a ribbon for the wrist strap and embelish with sequins, beads of jewels.
