Rescue your beautiful clothes from nasty, scratchy, showing labels!!!
Just imagine the following: You bought the most amazing set of undies and you're eager to show them to your special someone. Just when you're pulling your jeans down, you realize that a HUGE white label is sticking out of that tiny piece of lace......... Damn! Even long-term hubbies do not deserve that kind of inobservance...

Or imagine that you have the prettiest shirt ever and the label is scratchy like crazy. Cutting it off doesn't help because the edges are still nasty.

Here's where this how-to steps in!

  • How to make a techniques. Make Clothing Labels Disappear! - Step 1
    Step 1

Isn't it just incredible how much extra fabric is sewn into your clothes?

In only 10% of all cases, you may be able to open up a seam and take the label off. With bras and such, that becomes impossible.

Despite the fact that it just doesn't look too good if they stick out of your shirt, they are just unnecessary.

Gather all your things that need to be rescued from label-hell. Now all you need is a pair of scissors, tweezers and a good bit of patience.

    Step 2

Cut all the extra fabric off about 1/4 inch over the seam ( or where the fabric vanishes into the seams... ). Don't cut too much closer, you'll need some stuff to grab hold on.

If you're unsure on how to wash your undies e.g., keep the labels.

    Step 3

Label fabrics are usually simply woven, so you should have no problems with pulling out the horizonal threads. That's where the patience is needed, it might take a while to get all the layers done.

Be aware that the label goes deep down into the fold. You might be able to pull threads although you can't see them any more from the outside.

    Once you managed that...

    you should have this left.

The "vertical" strands are now reeeally easy to pull out.

While "picking" at the labels, be carefull not to pull out threads of your undies, especially if you have a very fine fabric like satin.

    Step 5

    Dah-daaaah! Label be gone!

    Nothing scratches, nothing looks stupid.

Of course, this works with shirts, scarves and whatever you choose as well!

Tried this it was really hard, much easier to just iron the label falt and cut with scissors. I only buy tee shirts and underwear with a printed label. Such as bonds and JayJays stuff

The vertical strands on the excess of my tag didnt pull out too well so I used those super careful scissors that you use for scrapbooking.
