Recycle and Alter old serving trays
I wanted a magnetic board for my children to use some educational magnets on. I did some brain storming and came up with this idea

    Start by sanding the tray down a little with fine sandpaper to remove any rust or uneven spots. It also gives the paint a slightly rough surface to grip to

    Paint the tray with a base coat. I used a Nippon Paint Multi-Purpose 4 in 1 Prep Coat that I had at hand already. This will give the tray a nice clean slate and stop any of the original paint or decal showing through the finished project. I gave mine 3 coats, with drying time in between each one

    After the base coat is dry, paint with your desired colour(s) and then coat with a sealer after it's dry. I used Wattyl Estapol Matt in a spray can that was hiding with the yellow paint

    Attach a picture hook or ribbon to the back of the tray and hang it
