Sew a unique wallet out of magazine pages.
This is such a simple idea and you can use it with all sorts of magazine pages, newspaper, photographs or images.

You Will Need

Step 1Rip a couple of interesting pages out of a magazine or newspaper.

Step 2Glue two pages together, so that the good side is facing out.

Step 3Trim around the edges to make sure they're the same size.

Step 4Cover both sides with a sheet of sticky back plastic.

Step 5Cut two strips of paper which are about 1.5" thick and a third the height of your wallet.

Step 6Fold in half and then fold each half down, to create an accordion shape like this.

Step 7Lay flat and cover each side with sticky back plastic.

Step 8Sew around the outside of your wallet.

Step 9Use a decorative zig-zag stitch and bright thread to give the wallet an interesting edge.

Step 10Tape the accordion paper to the bottom edge of your wallet, so that the nicest side if facing out.

Step 11Stitch in place using a normal straight stitch. Repeat with the other side.

Step 12Flip over and carefully stitch to the back of the wallet. Repeat with the other side.

Step 13Your wallet should now have a nice little pocket like this.

Step 14Stitch a straight line along the bottom edge of the wallet.

Step 15Trim around the edges to remove any excess sticky back plastic.

Step 16Hammer each side of a stud button in to the flap and underside of your wallet.

Step 17You're all done!
