  Step 1

  Gather all of your materials and prep your workspace. You can use a pre-made tote bag or you can start from scratch and make one out of canvas!

  Step 2

  Next, project your image onto your fabric and trace with chalk (for dark material) or a thin marker (for light material). If you don't have access to a projector, you can try using light material with a light box or a window- or simply freehand your image.

  Step 3

  It's time to paint!
  Start with your background. It's easiest to start from the top and work your way down, this way you avoid getting paint in unwanted places!
  If you're using a dark colored fabric, you may have to do multiple coats of paint in order to get an opaque look. We used a hair dryer in between coats to shorten dry time.
  *Tip: In order to implement the correct drying time, make sure to check the back of the bottle of fabric paint for instructions.
  After the background is finished, you can start on your outline! We used 3D puff paint to add dimension. We stuck to the colors on the image, but you can be as creative as you want here!

  Step 4

  Finish by touching up any mistakes you made along the way. Pair with a cute outfit and start casting love spells!
