A flower to accessorize any item with or wear in your hair.
I've been making fabric flowers and working out my own patterns. This tutorial is for the "layered" flower.

    Gather your materials!! I made my own patterns from scrap paper and household items. This pattern is a circle folded in half 3 times and then scalloped on the edges. I made several of these that go from large to small.

    Once you've made your patterns, pin them to the fabric and cut them out. The stitching is done on the outside so the fabric is kept wrong side to wrong side. After stitching the pieces, you might want to shape them up again with some snipping.

    I chose to use 5 flower pieces, but you can decide how to do yours. i also varied the color, but once again, your choice. Now...

    You need to finish and secure the edges. i used a zig zag stitch because it's decorative and stopped the unravelling with fray check. you can also use glue for this.

    Stack your pieces together and secure with some handstitching. I like to arrange the scalloped edges so they vary.

    Adorn the center with a little bit of somethin'. I used two vintage buttons. Now you can attach the flower to any item you like.
