Custom kilt from an old plaid flannel sheet
My step-son wanted a new kilt for an upcoming Celtic festival. Tartan is SUPER expensive and I have other kilts to make also. So went to a thrift store and bought an old flannel flat sheet. The top belt piece is from some cross stitch fabric that I had left over from prior project and the front turtle is a table place mat with a piece of our living room curtains that was cut off to shorten them.It goes on like a wrap skirt and there is velcro to keep the top closed and a little pin on the lower left of the picture that I made from old watch gears and to keep the flap closed :-) Thank you Kris for being my model :-) LOL I even impressed myself with this one :-)I really winged it, I can tell you it has knife pleats on the back and the entire thing went together like a giant jigsaw puzzle, but here it is :-)
