the key thing is to be creative
put keys on a t-shirt and spray acrylic paint( or bleach) over them with a spray bottle, and then take the keys off and let it dry. :)
if you use bleach rinse the shirt immediatly after, and if you use paint put the shirt in the dryer.

I love this idea! I have that Sunpaint stuff from klutz where you put paint on the fabric and lay things over top the colors will seep out around the objects when you put it in the sun!! now all i have to do is find some keys...

my dad used to own appartments and my brother had collected them!! you could always cut key patterns out of cardboard if you didnt have keys though!!
