Dudes don't like cozies, but they will love this one!
Cut a piece of tough but soft leather to fit around a medium sized jar, that way the cozy's laces can be loosened and it can be put around another jar of larger or smaller size. Be sure that there is about an inch between the ends of the rectangle of leather so it can fit other sizes.

I did not have a leather punch so I had to use a knife, do not do this, it is dangerous, I have been handling sharp knives since I was old enough to talk, and I nearly sliced myself. So be warned, get a leather punch.

Punch holes in the ends of the leather rectangle, at least three. Measure them out so they are even. Lace the leather cord through the holes to make cross lacing. Make sure it will fit the jar, then slide it off it again.

Cut a long strip of leather twice as long as the cozy and about 4 inches wide. This will be the handle piece. Roll into a tube and wrap with more leather cord so it will be stiff, but leave the ends unrolled and spread out.

Punch two holes in the opposite side from the lacing and punch holes in each end of the handle piece. put the ends of the handle piece inside the cozy and tie the handle in place by lacing the cord through the holes. Tie securely.

Adorn with beads and/or charms on the handle and near the lacing. and fit it back onto the jar.

You now have a Viking Drinking Mug! (Maybe a redneck mug...... not sure.
