Crazy abstract crochet.
I don't really know what a hyperbolic plane is all I know is that this crochet is in the shape of one.
The crochet goes in a spiral.
For it you can use any size hook/ yarn, I chose a 5mm needle and aran weight yarn with the variation in colour already mixed into the yarn to create the colour pattern.
