One of the simplest and most inexpensive ways of starting out on your jewellery-making journey is to make stretch bracelets.
No specialised tools are required.... just a knowledge of how to tie a strong and secure knot to make your bracelets durable. Always select the largest diameter beading elastic that will comfortably fit through your beads. This will minimise abrasion from the beads against the elastic and prolong the life of your bracelet.

Step 1
Cut a 12" (30cm) piece of Stretch Magic.

Pre-stretch the elastic by holding one end in each hand and pulling it. This is especially helpful with narrower diameter elastic so that it doesn't stretch through wear and become baggy on your wrist.

String your chosen beads.
Step 2
NB: For clarity, photos show knot being tied without any beads.

Bring the ends together, crossing one cord over the other.
Step 3
Wrap the front cord over the back cord and bring it back to the front to form a half knot. This first half knot will hold the beads in place so that you can continue tying the knot.
Step 4
Form the two cord ends into a circle with one crossing in front of the other.
Step 5
Form another half knot by wrapping the front one over the back one.
Step 6
Wrap it around a second time.
Step 7
Pull the knot up tightly:
First, pull the two cord ends.
Then pull the two beaded ends.
Next, pull one cord end and the opposite beaded end.
Repeat on the other side. The knot should now be tight.
Step 8
Apply a dab of GS-Hypo Cement or clear nail polish to the knot for added security. Trim the ends to 1/4" (6mm).
