    Step 1

    Take a strip of fabric that will go around your waist. You don't want to make it too thick, but thick enough so you can cut a slit and it won't break.

    Fold over one end and cut a small slit. Repeat to the other end!

    Stretch out your fabric a bit and sew around the edge of your hole if you wish.
    I'm lazy.
    So I didn't.

    Step 4

    Put one hole over the button where you want your button up to cinch in. Just like buttoning up.

    Step 5

    Wrap the other end around your back to the other side.

    Step 6

    Put the free side of your fabric through the button hole of your matching button.

    Now button the same button with that hole.

    Then button your actual button through the actual hole.
